Hi, I’m Phil
With my design experience, strategic approach and perfectionist tendencies, I can help your business achieve great things.
Where I started
I started Greenwire in 2008, after training as a designer and working in agencies for many years. Since then, I’ve worked on projects with some of New Zealand’s largest organisations, as well as some hyper growth start-ups and SMEs.
Whatever the product or service, I’m a big believer in intuitive, enjoyable user experiences – it’s about more than just the way things look.
What I do best
I trained as a traditional designer, and I’ve picked up a raft of UI/UX design skills along the way. My experience includes website design, graphic, print and brand design, as well as interactive design, web and mobile apps, SaaS products, prototyping, custom e-commerce and content managed sites.
After years in the business, I have plenty of hands-on technical experience and extensive knowledge, so I’m happy to work directly with your developers if that makes sense for you.
How I work
Like many designers, I’m a perfectionist at heart, so I’m not afraid to look at my own work with a critical eye. Unlike some designers, I don’t have a huge ego about my work – making me pretty flexible and easy to work with.
After working in agencies for many years, I know how to play nicely with teams, and I love collaborating and sharing my knowledge. I usually work from my studio, but I’m always available to come in and work with your team on-site if that makes your project run more smoothly.
Where to next?
I work with all sorts of clients in a range of industries. I love working with sustainable and environmentally friendly brands, and sometimes offer a discount to those organisations. I’ve also been known to turn down work that doesn’t fit my values.
